How does Career Mitra work?

Career Mitra is a platform where recruiters and jobseekers can discover each other. Recruiters benefit from Naukri as they can advertise their jobs to millions of jobseekers. Jobseekers can discover over 5 lakh jobs posted on Career Mitra and apply to them.

There are two ways to get a job on Career Mitra.

Apply to jobs – Once you apply to a job listing on Career Mitra, we automatically send your application to the recruiter. The recruiter will view your resume and the profile details that you have filled in your Career Mitra profile. If they find it suitable, they will contact you to schedule an interview

Get discovered by recruiters – If you have created a profile on Career Mitra, your profile will be a part of the Career Mitra jobseeker database. Not all jobs are posted on Career Mitra. Many times, recruiters on Career Mitra search through our database to find someone who matches the criteria for a role they are hiring. If they find your profile suitable, they may contact you directly to schedule an interview.

How do I register on Career Mitra?

Choose between fresher or experienced option. Select fresher if you either are a student or just graduated or if you have never worked before. Select experienced if you have worked or if you are currently working.

Your details such as email and phone number are required to create an account, as we use them to communicate with you. Recruiters also need these details for reaching out to you with jobs. Alternatively, you can create your profile using your Google or Facebook account to make this step easier.

You can fill details such as employment details, education details, your key skills, resume, etc in your profile.

How can I update/edit my Profile?

To update your profile on Career Mitra:

Login to your Career Mitra account

Hover the mouse over the My Profile in the right upper corner of the page.

Click on Edit Profile

This will take you to a page where you can update the profile details

We recommend you to update your Profile regularly. Recruiters often contact only those candidates who have recently updated their profiles

What does “Your profile is x% complete” mean? / Why should my profile be 100% complete?

It is important to have a complete profile on Career Mitra as it increases your chance of recruiters noticing and your profile and contacting you. For example, recruiters are 40% more likely to contact profiles with a photo than profiles without a photo. Each field in your Career Mitra profile has been assigned a certain % weight and completing these fields would increase your overall profile completion percentage. If your profile completion score is less than 100%, it means that some important fields are incomplete in your profile and you need to fill them.

We recommend you to have a profile completion score close to 100% so that it gives you the best chance to find a job and get the best results at Career Mitra. Moreover, keep updating your Career Mitra profile so that recruiters can see your latest accomplishments. This would ensure that you always maintain your edge on Career Mitra and do not miss opportunities.

Does it cost to create a Career Mitra profile?

No, creating a profile on Career Mitra is absolutely Free of Cost. Applying to jobs in Career Mitra is also Free of Cost

I can’t remember the password for my account. How can I login again?

If you have forgotten the password of your account, you need to reset it. An OTP will be sent to your registered email address, which can be used to set a new password

To reset your password:

Click on the Forgot Password? link on the Login Page.

Enter either your user name or the e-mail address with which you created your profile. Click Go.

We send an email to your registered email address with a One-Time Password (OTP). In case you have not received the email with the OTP, check the spam and junk folders of your inbox. We also send this OTP through an SMS to your registered phone number.

Enter this OTP in the OTP field and click Submit.

This takes you to a page where you can enter the new password for logging into your account.

What is Advanced Search?

Advanced search allows you to specify more criteria such as your preferred industry and functional area. You can also specify whether you would like to see a job posted directly by the company or also see jobs posted by a consultancy on behalf of a company.

Searching for government jobs on Career Mitra?

To search for government jobs on Career Mitra:

Go to the URL “https://careermitra.moradabadsmartcity.org/”. Click on Govt. Jobs tab at the top.

Type a keyskill, designation or company name in the search bar. Type location.

Click Search

How to save a search as an alert?

After you search for jobs on Career Mitra using a search query, you can choose to set the search as an alert. This would ensure that when recruiters post new jobs matching your criteria on Career Mitra, we will send an email and push notification on your mobile app to keep you updated and make your job search easier. This is especially useful when you have selected many filters to refine your search query. You can use the alert to find matching jobs easily instead of doing the search again from scratch.

If you don’t know exactly what type of job you are searching for, you can browse all the jobs posted on Career Mitra.

What are Premium jobs in Career Mitra?

Premium jobs are those jobs for which the recruiter has shown a preference to hire candidates from top tier institutes of the country. You can identify premium jobs using premium icon next to the job title. Note that premium institutes are not restricted to only IITs and IIMs.

Can I still apply to a job if I haven’t registered on Career Mitra?

Yes, you can apply to jobs without registering with Career Mitra However, it is recommended that you register before applying as this would let you avoid filling a long application form every time. You can apply to jobs with a single click.

When can I expect a response after I apply to a job?

Career Mitra automatically sends all applications made by you to the Employers posting the Jobs. Thereafter, it is up to the Employer to respond to your Job application. Career Mitra is just a platform that lets you discover Jobs and Employers to receive your applications.

However, you can track the status of your application on “Application Status” page. On mobile, you can see this in the “Applied Jobs” screen.

Can I apply to more than 1 job at a time?

Yes, you have an option to apply for more than one job at a time for the jobs in the Recommended Jobs, Saved Jobs or Custom Job Alerts page. Click on the checkbox on the left of the job posting to select multiple job postings and click Apply. This will send your application simultaneously to multiple recruiters. You can send up to 5 job applications at a go. Also, you have a daily quota of applying for up to 50 job vacancies

How do I track my job application?

After you apply to a job, you will see a success message on the screen. We will also send a confirmation email to your registered email address. In addition to this, you can view all the jobs you have applied to under the ‘Application Status’ section on the website. This section shows the status of the job application. You can see statuses such as ‘Application Sent’, ‘Application Viewed’, ‘CV Downloaded’, ‘Shortlisted’, ‘Job Expired’ against your application.

What does it mean when I get a message saying, “The status of your application has changed”?

Your application can go through these statuses:

• Applied: Applied to Job
• Application Sent: Application sent to recruiter
• Application Viewed: Application viewed by recruiter
• Resume Viewed: Attached resume in application viewed by recruiter
• Shortlisted: Recruiter marked your application as shortlisted
• Not Shortlisted: Recruiter marked your application as not shortlisted
• Not Shortlisted: Recruiter marked your application as not shortlisted
• Job Closed: Job is no longer accepting applies

When you get a message saying, “The status of the your application has changed”, it means that the status has moved to one of the above statuses.

Do I need to pay to apply to a job or get an interview call? / Recruiters are asking me to pay to schedule interview for job

No. You can apply to jobs for FREE on Career Mitra.

Note that genuine recruiters do not ask for money to schedule interviews or offer a job. If you are receiving such calls or emails, beware as this might be a job scam.

We regret that sometimes, despite our best efforts, false job postings are listed online, and non-existing job offers are sent via email to illegally collect personal information and/or money from unsuspecting job seekers. Please note that Career Mitra does not approve of, or represent any employer or recruiter sending such fraudulent communication, which in fact are a violation of the Terms and Conditions. In such cases, we remain vigilant every day - When we receive complaints from Jobseekers about fraudulent or suspicious emails, we promptly notify the concerned employer client and, if necessary, block them from using our services.
